1.The short version

  • We collect what we need to run the store and nothing for advertising.
  • We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
  • Browsing the store doesn't require an account.
  • You can ask for a copy of your data or have it deleted.

2.What we collect

Account details. Your name, email address and password (stored as a secure hash). If you sign in with GitHub or Google, we receive your name, email and profile photo from them.

Profile and content. Your username, bio and links, and anything you post: app listings, uploaded images, ratings and reviews.

Activity in the store. The apps you save and the makers you follow, so we can show them back to you.

Open counts. When someone presses Open on an app, we add one to that app's count for the day. The count isn't tied to your account, and makers only see totals.

Newsletter. Your email address, if you subscribe.

Reports. If you report an app or a review, we keep the reason, what you wrote and your account, so we can follow up. The maker isn't told who sent it.

Purchases. If you buy Pro or a sponsor spot, we keep what you bought, the amount, and the payment and invoice references from our payment provider. We never see or store your card details.

Technical data. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and time of request) for security and debugging.

3.How we use it

  • to run your account and show your profile, listings and reviews;
  • to review submissions and keep the store free of spam and abuse;
  • to show makers how their apps are doing, in totals only;
  • to send the newsletter, if you asked for it;
  • to deliver what you paid for and keep records the law requires;
  • to look into reports and take down content that breaks our terms;
  • to answer you when you contact us.

4.What others can see

Your profile (name, username, photo, bio, links), your app listings, and your reviews with your name are public. Your email address, the apps you save and the makers you follow are private.

5.Reading app pages

When a maker submits a link, our server requests that page once to read its title, description, icon and preview image. We don't run scripts on it or follow links from it, and we only store the details that end up on the listing.

6.Who helps us run Linkstore

We use a small number of services to operate the store:

  • Supabase stores our database and uploaded images.
  • Vercel hosts the website.
  • Dodo Payments runs checkout as the merchant of record, only if you buy something. They receive your name, email, billing address and payment details under their own privacy policy.
  • GitHub and Google handle sign-in, only if you choose them.

They process data on our behalf and under their own security commitments. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.

7.How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. When you delete it, we remove your profile, saves, follows and reviews, and either delete your listings or, if you ask, hand them over to someone else. Backups roll off within 30 days. Server logs are kept for a short time for security.

8.Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile, delete your reviews and unsave apps at any time. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

9.Cookies

We use sign-in cookies and a few small browser settings, and no advertising or tracking cookies. The cookie policy lists each one.

10.Children

Linkstore isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has an account, tell us and we'll remove it.

11.Changes

If we change how we handle your data in a way that matters, we'll tell you on the site or by email before the change applies.

12.Contact

For privacy questions or requests, email hi@linkstore.io.
